Join me thanksgiving day for the first annual Flying Trapeze Virtual Turkey Trot! Pledge your mileage here and then walk, jog, or run the distance on Thanksgiving Day.
IMHO, Thanksgiving isn’t a day for the gym. It’s a day to get outside, look and listen, breath the air, and contemplate all the wonderful events, opportunities, and individuals the year has brought to you.
So here’s what will make this really fun: Take your camera with you on your run/walk and take a photo of something you see. There’s no better way to “open your eyes” than to slip into Photographer Mode. I’ll put the pics together and post them here the Monday after Thanksgiving. If you’ve got to do your run on the treadmill or at the gym, no worries: Maybe you can snap one in your home, or on the way there.
I’m in for 4 miles. You?
UPDATE: If you don’t have a pedometer and want to calculate your distance, use http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ to map your route! All trots, long and short, are welcome!
Welcome to a site offering tools and support to help you cultivate and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. The flying trapeze stands for strength, equanimity, focus — the tools that allow us to do the seemingly impossible with graceful ease.

I’m in! There’s a great walking path in the woods near my house. It’s a bit over 6 Kilometers, which is 3.72822 miles according to my lovely web converter. Adding in the walk from my house to the start of the path (because why not?) I’m in for 4 miles too. I’ll be bringing my camera, I just love the company.

Barring culinary or logistical disasters ( in which case I reserve the right not to stress about finding time to getting a workout in) I’m up for 4 miles.
Great idea, as the turkey tastes much better and the relatives seem much more agreeable after a good run or walk!

Weather permitting, I will try for a walk down the Mall with my camera Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately, it is supposed to rain here in Washington, DC.

Lisa, I miss living in DC sooooooooooooooooo much. Hope you get to walk! I used to stroll from my office (20th& L) to Union Station sometimes for a nice long walk… I took that for granted so much–it’s only now upon leaving that I really see what I’m missing!

I’m in. Four miles. Being an LA native, this may be longer than I have walked in my entire life, but I’ll bring a photo of my car to keep my spirits up. I have always wondered what it was like to walk…

Sounds like fun. I go for a run/walk every Thanksgiving morning. I’m in for at least 3. Can’t wait to see all the pics.
