Inflammation Diet

October 19th, 2007 · No Comments

I don’t know why, but I’m intrigued by all the talk about the effect of inflammation on health and weight loss. It sounds like a sexy new magic — a veritable scientific advance in our exploration of the body! Until a year or two from now, when it’s effects are dismissed and we’ve moved onto a new hotness. (Or have we already done that?)

In any case, according this helpful breakdown of how to eat to lower inflammation, my “enjoy often” and my “enjoy in moderation” categories are flipped. Essentially, you’re supposed to eat mostly lentils, greens and colorful veggies, berries, fish, and olive oil. Most of the yummy, satisfying stuff falls in the middle category: grains, nuts, and dairy. Sigh.

Daily mantra: More salad. More olive oil. More salad. More olive oil.
