If I have a child, and that child’s school outlaws cupcakes, I will be throwing a giant temper tantrum. That said, I will be the mom bringing the natural-sugar, carrot-flecked, whole-grain, cream-cheese frosted cupcakes. And the kids will like them!

“I am so with you! The only time of year my mom baked was our birthdays (for school, family party and kiddie parties): Sept 13, Sept 29, Oct 2. Three weeks of cupcake yumminess…then nada. Mom isn’t much of a baker!
The harm in a homemade frosted cupcake is about 250 calories…not much worse than a Hershey bar at the grocery store check-out (230).”
